Meghan Butler, Media Maven, on engaging our consumers:
Seventh Generation emphasizes authentic and transparent conversations with our consumers. In 2008, we saw the interactive nature of social media further facilitate this communication in a mutually beneficial and impactful way. Our digital footprint grew exponentially through mainstream social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter, relationships with mommy bloggers and key influencers, our own Seventh Generation Nation, 7th Gen Blog and the Inspired Protagonist blog to provide a solid informative and inspirational presence speaking directly with our diverse audiences. Perhaps most rewarding has been our very deliberate engagement with mommy bloggers in a way that serves their needs and reflects the essence of Seventh Generation. They are truly the voice of our consumers whether their readers want product recommendations, educational content or desire to interact with brands that make a difference. Mommy bloggers fight the good fight on a daily basis, lobbying for healthier options and a better way of life. It is Seventh Generation’s privilege to be in community with such a visceral, change-making life force.
